Today was an opportunity for us to “dig in” to our work, which we did heavily interspersed with larger philosophical discussions (how do we remain committed to students engaging with one another, developing perserverence?) and lots of little decisions (students won’t bring the chromebooks home in the first few weeks) that we may have to take some time to revisit to insure that we recall what we’ve agreed to. In short, we each took on the following tasks for the betterment for the group:
Dan and Lee: Roughed out the elements of a PLP template; tomorrow, plan to have students give some feedback on what was developed. We’re specifically interested in student feedback on how how this tool can/will further student engagement (is it appealing)
Eric: Fleshed out responses to some of the prioritized questions regarding 1:1 roll-out (when can they take them home, where will they be housed),
Susan: Explored further resources to support instruction in digital citizenship. Additionally, has been appointed, through the work she is already doing, as our on-team resource regarding the apps to have on the chromebooks at the outset as well as ongoing.
Kaiya: Lots of networking with various groups, but also working (still in progress) on crafting an initial outreach to families regarding personalization of learning as it will be supported through Chromebooks and PLPs.
